Press release | September 06, 2019
Swedish lifting solutions are in demand internationally. During the summer periods of 2018 and 2019, Movomech International AB, based in Kristianstad in south-east Sweden, has delivered a large number of manual handling solutions to Volvo Cars’ factory in Charleston, USA, where the production of the new premium sedan S60 has started.
The equipment constitute key elements of the final assembly process, including lifting and mounting of the car’s doors, seats, tunnel console and dashboard. In a second round in 2019, the delivery was supplemented with the installation of lifting equipment for, among other, the car’s towbar, exhaust system and fuel tank.
– These types of more complex manual handling processes are our specialty, says Fredrik Edlind, Key Account Manager at Movomech International.
– To develop a complete solution that responds to the automotive industry’s high demands on ergonomics while at the same time cope with a continuous production process in multiple shifts where the least production disturbance has major consequences, there are few companies in the world that can handle, explains Fredrik.
– Volvo Cars has always been an important customer for us, and we are proud to once again have gained Volvo Cars’ confidence and supply equipment to the US facility.
